A New Year, A New Lens
It was Christmas Eve, and Edris stood at the window of her small apartment, camera in hand, watching the soft snowflakes drift down. The world outside was still, as if it, too, was letting go of the year. Edris had spent the last few weeks capturing beautiful moments for others, but tonight, she knew she needed to capture something for herself.
2024 had been filled with too many memories of a past love—a love that had never quite felt right. She had clung to the idea of what it could have been, waiting for change that never came. Now, as the year ended, Edris realized it was time to release the past and start anew.
With a deep breath, she clicked the shutter of her camera, capturing the swirling snow outside. Each click felt like a small release, a way of shedding the weight of the year. She didn’t need
romance to define her happiness. The future, she knew, held something special. A life full of new possibilities, ready for her to embrace.
Edris smiled softly. 2025 was coming, and it felt like a fresh start. The right love, the right life, would find her when the time was right. And for the first time in a long while, she was ready to welcome it.
As the clock ticked toward midnight, Edris put her camera down, closed her eyes, and whispered into the quiet night, 2025 is mine.
